Gary Iorio was born in Brooklyn and moved to Massapequa, New York at the age of eleven. He earned a BA in English from Hofstra University, followed by an MFA in fiction from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop in 1976, and a JD from St. John’s University School of Law in 1984. His fiction has appeared in the “Mississippi Review,” “Pig Iron,” “Wisconsin Review,” “The Penny Dreadful,” and other literary magazines and newspapers. He was married to Kristine Romani and has a daughter from his first marriage. He was a real estate attorney and resided in Islip and Montauk, NY.
