We Wanted to Be Writers wouldn’t have been possible without the generous involvement of everyone we interviewed, listed here, all of whom tolerated an excess of pesky questions and impositions on their time with great good humor, and for that we thank them wholeheartedly.
These writers are not a random sampling. Rather, we set out to interview those with whom we’d had some “connection” at Iowa, even if that connection amounted to nothing more than a few beers at The Mill after class. But the Workshop was small enough that after two years, we had a connection with just about everyone.
