Among the Tall Englemann Spruce

This drizzly morning the Black-capped Chickadees
chase one another through the trees,
and events occurring on the sun reach the earth
as static hiss on our car radio.
The young couple strolling
among the tall Englemann Spruce
where our cell phones never connect
listen for that phenomena called the alpine ringing.
You and I have made our way in sync with things
we never truly understood, our networks collapsed
but our dreams still intact, distinct,
yet blended into part of a greater whole.
May the underlying order within the chaos keep
everything wired with everything else, my Valentine,
and link us to the grand collective of our own kind,
yielding both balance and insight as the rain comes in.

Dan-Loved your poem! Thanks for sharing you old romantic, you!
Dan,
Beautiful poem. Once again, you capture a moment so vividly and with searing introspection.
Keep it up, my friend. Never stop writing; it continues to get better.
